workflow

Always strive for better work. Never stop learning. Have fun.

modeling

The creation of the 3D model, is the most time consuming part of the visualisation process. I usually make it from the 2D plans or sketches that I get from the client. The 3D model is the base, if it is too complicated, contains bugs, it could dramatically increase the render time. The draft models are usually made with ArchiCAD, because it is the best architectural design software nowdays. It can speed up the modelling with built in architectural elements. The model can be used for plans, elevations or sections. The model has been imported to 3ds max to put in some high quality details. Depending on the size and complexity of the model, the modelling process may take few weeks.

texturing and lighting

After the client has checked the model, I start to create unique textures for all materials in the scene. This means, that I adjust the texture maps, colour, reflextion maps, refraction maps, bump maps etc. for each material. The lighting is the most exciting part of the process. Artifical and natural light sources have been placed on the scene. We can achieve lot of different day and night moods with the same model and textures.

rendering

According to the input data (model, textures, lighting) the computer practically calculates how the exterior and interior planned by the designer will look like. I usually use V-ray rendering engine.

On the left you can see the draft render and the final render on the right.
